About Alyce Wilson
Alyce Wilson is the editor of Wild Violet and in her copious spare time writes humor, non-fiction, fiction and poetry and infrequently keeps an online journal. Her first chapbook, Picturebook of the Martyrs; her e-book/pamphlet, Stay Out of the Bin! An Editor's Tips on Getting Published in Lit Mags ; her book of essays and columns, The Art of Life; her humorous nonfiction ebook, Dedicated Idiocy: How Monty Python Fandom Changed My Life, and her newest poetry collection, Owning the Ghosts, can all be ordered from her Web site, AlyceWilson.com. In late 2019, she published a volume of poetry by her third great-grandfather, Reading's Physician Poet: Poems by Dr. James Meredith Mathews, which also contains genealogical information about the Mathews family. She lives with her husband and son in the Philadelphia area and takes far too many photos of her handsome, creative son, nicknamed Kung Fu Panda.
I came to know your name through the yahoo contributor community page and I’m so thankful to have followed the link that brought me here. It’s all worth my stumbling upon this site.
I would like to ask you though “if” the picture to accompany a poetry submission should be on a separate category each (poetry, photography)though being submitted as one entry?
I’ve already responded to this via e-mail, but I’ll post the answer here, as well, in case other people have the same question:
My understanding of this question is you’re asking whether you should submit poems and photography as separate submissions. For my convenience, I’d say yes, send different categories as separate submissions unless they’re meant to be paired together. If they are, submit them as one entry.
Hope that answers your question! And I’m glad you enjoy my work on YCN; it’s been a rewarding experience writing for them.
Please send submission requirements. Tried getting them from here and am unsuccessful. Also, this page is so light that it is barely legible. Thanks for your attention.
I have e-mailed you the submission guidelines. Let me know if you have any further questions.
