Zagreb International Film Festival

The third Zagreb International Film Festival took place in October 2005, presenting films by studio or independent filmmakers in three main categories — feature films, short films and documentary films — as well as other aspects of film and multimedia projects.

While normally the Zagreb Student Center is primarily for students, during the festival, it was filled with former students and others, as well. The center is open to all generations as a meeting place for contemplating artistic ideas. Besides the competition program, there is the supporting program, in which every year the film production of a different political or cultural country is presented. That is in order to promote film art, directors, and their debut works. Priority is given to film making in other countries.

The official program is the selection of Ludmila Cvitkova, the Rotterdam Film Festival selector for Eastern Europe. The festival program included Romany and African films. With the support of the city, the African film screenings were coordinated by Cameron Bailey.

The festival also held a special program, Cubelets, a program dedicated to Croatian feature films, in collaboration with the CFA, the Croatian Film Association.

The most intriguing aspect of the festival program dealt with issue of domination. A part of the supporting program held book promotions, film and cultural projects, as well as multimedia presentations and entertainment programs. The Festival of the First, a part of the festival, recognized debut works in art on a given subject: in this case about domination.

The ZF Fest award is called the Golden Pram.
