Palermo ShootingDirected by Wim Wenders, 2008 Review by Rada Djurica One of the very best films from the New Author Film festival was Palermo Shooting by Wim Wenders, which was also shown at the Cannes Film Festival but in a rough cut version. Palermo Shooting is a brilliant piece of work that is remiscent
of Until The End of The World. Here, again, Wenders engages brilliant
musicians to help him tell the story, using music to underscore the
actions of the central character and provide subtle social commentary.
The film says an awful lot about contemporary fast living and modern
life. The entire film is full of subtle, poignant and cohesive moments
that blend to great effect with the surreal. Wenders' film is a breathtaking,
remarkable voyage. |
