Anchor
of Doom
By Rich Furman
Patience
the downfall
of the mad.
Don Quixote. The bowing monk
awakened to daily alarms. Bran cereal.
Floss. Complete vitamins. Cha cha boom.
Tweed Ely dee. Pull off the head.
Tuck it under your arm. Feed it daily.
Water it like a sexy gaping perennial.
Make certain to ignore the blood
the green sores. Fester. It's ok.
Alleys. Mournful silence. Exhaust.
An anchor of doom only pulls
those
that are
willing.
