winter housed corners
where snowdrops pierced
then purple crocuses scattered over frost
and catalogues opened to dreams
came the high season —
daffodils trumpeting equinox
with polyanthus triumphant
in yellow and carmine
I scatter seeds
over the urgency of spring
trowel plant rake
and vision burgeoning glory
