The first anime I remember is Speed Racer. I was a faithful
viewer as a child and still have fond memories of the show. In high
school around 1984 I was a big fan of a laser disc video game called
Cliff Hanger. I later learned that the animation was actually taken
from Lupin III and the Castle of Cagliostro. Great stuff.
Then there was the Nintendo game Golgo 13: Top Secret Episode, which
was a favorite game of mine to play.
Have you attended any conventions? If so any stories/lies?
I have attended a few conventions. The guys at No Brand Con in Wisconsin
invited me as a guest twice, and I had an incredible time both years.
Last year we had a great time playing practical jokes on the drive-thru
cashier at Wendys. The No Brand guys have the video footage online
somewhere.
Joe, what's up for the near future? Any projects we should know about?
I am trying to get a comic book project with Doug Smith off the ground.
Its called When the Dead Go Bowling, and will be a collection
of short horror stories that Ive written. Please visit www.starshipcomics.com.
Then theres my Troublemakers hidden camera project I am
starting; the concept is similar to Trigger Happy TV. Then of
course there is the ongoing promotion of my film Laughing Boy,
which happens to feature Tiffany Grant!
One final question, what do you have on your desk at work?
As a freelancer, I dont have a desk at work. My deskwork is done
at home. I just finished a remodeling job, so a lot of the stuff in
my home office was put away temporarily. But other than the expected
PC, speakers and printers, I do have some Cyberteam cells displayed,
a lobby card of Vincent Prices Return of the Fly and my
old surfboard. Maybe you should ask me what I have on my refrigerator
or my bookshelf downstairs ?
Chuck would like to thank Joe for his time and tolerence.
