About Cynthia Yatchman
Cynthia Yatchman is a Seattle-based artist and art instructor. She grew up in the Midwest with a mother who taught the old technique of Porcelain/China Painting. Early in her art career, she worked as a ceramicist apprenticing with JT Abernathy. After a move to the West Coast, she received a BFA in painting from UW. She made the switch to 2D at that time and has stayed there ever since, making paintings, collages and prints. Her works are housed in numerous public and private collections and have been shown nationally in California, Connecticut, New York, Indiana, Michigan, Oregon and Wyoming. She has exhibited extensively in the northwest, including shows at Seattle University, Seattle Pacific University, Shoreline Community College, the Tacoma Convention Center, and the Seattle Pacific Science Center. She currently teaches clay classes and art for challenged students and families in Seattle while exhibiting her own work.
